Description
The Parish Council are delighted to announce that South Cave
Farmers' Market has received certification from the National Association of Farm
Retailers and Markets. This means you can buy with confidence from any of the
stalls at the market that the produce is locally produced and/or sourced. Look
out for the logo.
Following the initiative provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council,
South Cave Parish Council looked into various ways to promote the principle of
Local Agenda 21, deciding that a Market could provide a benefit to the
community, and help the economy of local farmers.
Local meat and vegetables are available together with home made cakes and
pies, chutneys and honey, plants, fish, bread, pottery, eggs, mushrooms, and
with a local charity or organisation on hand to provide refreshments and a cake
stall.
The South Cave Farmers’ Market is now well established, being in its third
year of operation and is well supported both by local residents and by local
producers.
The market operates from 9:00am until 1:00pm, on the
second Saturday of every month, and is organised by the
South Cave Parish Council.
