There will be a Hampshire Farmers' Market in
Winchester on Sunday 10th August from 9am to 2pm in Middlebrook Street
and the ajoining car park.
Local producers from Hampshire will be attending with a vast array
of high quality, fresh local producer which is all grown in the county
or within ten miles of the border. August brings seasonal favourites
such as courgettes, peas and sweet corn, and delicious soft fruits such
as gooseberries and blueberries. All are perfect for creating tasty
summer treats, and many producers offer the chance to sample their
products before you buy. Barbeques will be well catered for with a
sizzerling selection of meats, sausages, burgers and even ready made
game BBQ grill packs.
Other fresh local produce available at the market includes
free-range meat and eggs, pickles, jams and chutneys, fresh sauces
great with home produced pasta, a huge variety of cheeses including the
popular parmesasn style cheese, cream and ice cream wonderful with
fresh fruits, fresh and smoked fish, wines and ales, cider, fruit
juice, freshly baked bread and cakes, seasonal salads and vegetables,
Hampshire honey, fudge and a wonderful selection of plants and shrubs.
